I came here for the lousifen noodle. The good thing is that they were able to make it less spicy because my spice tolerance is very bad, but I love lousifen noodle. The ladies were really nice. Their house made soy milk was creamy and delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was there was hair on the pork hog skin. The hair made it look disgusting eventhough the taste was still good. I picked all the hair out before i was able to eat. Maybe next time I will order something not involved pork skin

First thing first, Guilin/Guangxi-style rice noodles aren't for everyone. If you've had "luo xi fan" then you know what I mean. So the baseline is there: with dozens of instant rice noodle brands in the market, the noodle bar is competing not just other similar restaurants but pre-packaged groceries. And I have to say, it is better than the instant ones. Their braised meat and sauce are on the spot, well seasoned with good hint of spice without overpowering. The "vanilla" version, i.e. without adding any additional custom seasonings or pickles, set a good foundation for any customisation. If it's your first time, it's definitely a bit of experimental to get the right combination, which is also a fun process. They have a varieties of pickled radish, beans, bamboo shoots, chilli sauce, coriander, etc - you are not obligated to add everything, but you are always welcome to try it bit by bit. The waitress has been serving this restaurant for twenty years and she was very friendly to help navigating an the options. In terms of the dining experience, I'd call it pretty authentic - not the fancy noodle bar in a 5-star hotel or a upscale ramen shop that costs you an arm and a leg for a b

Never coming back. Absolute nightmare of an experience. First of all, the hygiene here is seriously lacking. There was a literal spider on our table, and flies were buzzing around us the entire time we were trying to eat. The food was just as bad. I ordered the Lao You Rice Noodles and the broth was insanely sour-far worse than any rice noodle place I've ever been to. The whole bowl just tasted overpowering like sour bamboo shoots. Honestly, they should just rename it "Sour Bamboo Shoot Noodles" on the menu because it's false advertising. To make matters worse, my friend's rice noodles were rock hard and had a terrible texture-instant ramen tastes way better than whatever that was. We also tried three of the complimentary side dishes, and they were all vile. Easily the worst l've ever tasted. One of them literally tasted like dish soap, probably because the knives or kitchen utensils weren't washed properly! To top it all off, the staff actually had the nerve to complain to us about "wasting" the side dishes. That was incredibly offensive. The Luosifen I ordered here is definitely a step up from the instant ones on Weee. It’s sour, spicy, and savory (though a bit too salty for my taste), and the noodles have a great springy texture. Honestly, it’s like comparing a 90 to an 85? The real value-add here is the variety of meat toppings. The beef I chose was decent, and the service was friendly; the owner takes the time to explain their specialties and the food came out super fast.

Accidentally discovered this hidden gem and it was soooo goood! There are free appetizers (pickled fruits) and it was sweet and sour and spicy and flavorful the same time. The pork knuckle was so tender and juicy and the chicken knuckle was fried to a perfection. The Lao You noodle soup was their signature. Very flavorful. Owner said they cooked each bowl separately for best taste. I can tell it was rly authentic. During happy hour there’s also a free drink provided. I’ll def come back to try more items!
